Autumn is one of our favourite seasons in Nord-Lenangen. The mountains turn shades of gold and red, the air becomes crisp, and the hiking trails grow quieter as winter approaches. It's also the time of year when the landscape is rich with berries and the first Northern Lights begin to appear on clear evenings.
This package combines some of our favourite hikes in the Lyngen Alps with comfortable accommodation by the fjord and meals inspired by Northern Norwegian traditions. You'll stay in a rorbu or apartment overlooking the sea and enjoy breakfast and dinner in our panoramic restaurant, Bøteriet, where local ingredients are at the heart of the menu.
Together with local guides, you'll explore a selection of mountain trails and valleys chosen for their scenery rather than their difficulty. The hikes are moderate, typically lasting 4–6 hours, and give you time to experience the landscape at a comfortable pace.
During your stay, you'll visit some of the area's best-known hiking destinations, including Blåisvatnet, with its striking turquoise water, and Lyngstuva, where the Lyngen Peninsula meets the open sea. You'll also explore the open landscapes of Russelvdalen, where the mountains gradually give way to wide views across the fjords and nearby islands.
As darkness returns after summer, autumn also marks the beginning of the Northern Lights season. If conditions are right, you can head out on your own or join a guided tour. To help you make the most of the experience, the package also includes a Northern Lights photography workshop.
