Winter brings two remarkable natural experiences to the Lyngen region. From November to mid-January, humpback whales and orcas follow the herring into the fjords. As darkness falls, the Northern Lights often appear above the mountains.
This package combines both.
During your stay, you'll join a whale safari and a Northern Lights workshop, where you'll learn more about the aurora and how to photograph it. Between the activities, there's time to enjoy the quiet surroundings, good meals and the view from your cabin by the fjord.
You'll stay in a comfortable rorbu or apartment in Nord-Lenangen, a small fishing village where life has always been shaped by the sea. Breakfast and dinner are served in our panoramic restaurant, Bøteriet, and after a day outdoors you can warm up in the outdoor jacuzzi while keeping an eye on the night sky.
If you have a few extra days, we're happy to help you plan more winter experiences such as snowshoe hiking, snowmobile safaris, dog sledding or a visit to a local Sámi community.
